Election Information for Residents Affected by Tornado

NOTICE TO FORADA CITY VOTERS AFFECTED BY STORM DAMAGE

Question: “If a voter no longer lives at their home due to a disaster, do they still
get to vote in their same precinct or not?”

Answer: If a resident intends to return to their home after the structure has been
rebuilt or repaired, they do not lose residence at that location. They are
considered temporarily away and are still allowed to maintain their residence
status for voting purposes. (Similar to our “snowbirds” that go South for the
winter)

However, if a voter does NOT intend to repair/rebuild their home and will be
residing somewhere else, they will need to re-register at their new address
(where they will be living on election day) and they will need to register/vote in
their new precinct/polling place
